Appointment of Enduring Attorney

ENDURING GUARDIAN

What is an Enduring Guardian?

Appointing someone as your Enduring Guardian is different from appointing someone as your Power of Attorney.

An Enduring Guardian is someone you appoint to make decisions for you in relation to lifestyle decisions and medical procedures in the event you are incapable of making those decisions for yourself. This appointment allows the Enduring Guardian to legally make those decisions on your behalf.

It is important to distinguish that an Enduring Guardian are not usually able to make any financial decisions. It is important that in some instances, a Power of Attorney and Enduring Guardian are both prepared.
