Beat the Christmas Deadline for Filing Parenting Matters

The Family Court and Federal Circuit Court of Australia anticipate a ‘Christmas rush’ of application late in the year, many dealing with disputes relating to travel issues and Christmas holidays.

In anticipation of this rush, the Courts have implemented a deadline for those matters requiring a hearing prior to Christmas. Nationally, all such applications must be filed no later than 4PM on  Friday 13 November 2020.

Those Applications filed urgently after this date will be assessed by a Registrar on a case-by-case basis and a listing date will be provided accordingly.
